A Wisconsin woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death has admitted to carrying out the brutal attack because he brought food home to cook instead of taking her out for date night, according to court documents.
Mikayla Kloth, 27, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of her boyfriend, Lukas Rosch, 25, who was killed on the night of April 24 at Kloth’s apartment in the Village of Lac La Belle near Okauchee.
Kloth told investigators she got upset when Rosch arrived with “chicken drumsticks, seasoning, and was planning on using the air fryer,” instead of taking her out for dinner as she had wanted, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WISN.
Rosch then “began pushing her buttons,” Kloth told investigators, saying she just stabbed him because “she was angry.” She later added that she “should have just gone to the bar, and the whole thing was just irritating.”
When officers arrived at the apartment, they found Rosch lying on his back with a single stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Kloth admitted to stabbing Rosch, saying that “if they had to lock her up, that was cool,” according to the criminal complaint.
“’I stabbed him. If you have to take me to jail, OK,’” she said, according to Waukesha County Circuit Court Commissioner David Herring, who made a statement at Kloth’s initial court hearing.
Matthew Rosch, Rosch’s father, also appeared at Kloth’s court hearing, where he begged the judge to keep her locked up.
“I stand before you a shattered man,” Matthew Rosch said. “Please never let that monster walk the streets ever again.”
Rosch’s family described him as a loving son, brother and uncle, and said they are devastated by his death.
“We are completely broken at the tragic and senseless loss of our son, Lukas John Rosch, the most loving, giving, kind-hearted person anyone could ever meet,” the family said in a statement to WISN. “We are just asking for privacy at this time as we try to process.”
Court documents also revealed prior concerns about Kloth’s behavior.
About a week before the stabbing, Rosch told another woman and his landlord that Kloth had bitten his thumb and that he was worried for his safety, according to the complaint.
The landlord said Rosch appeared afraid and told the woman, “Please take my full name, in case something ever happens to me.”
At the hearing, Kloth’s bond was set at $2 million cash and she remains in custody at the Waukesha County Jail.
Kloth is scheduled to return to court on May 29.
