Presley Gerber's death being investigated as 'a suspected overdose': police

Presley Gerber's cause of death was "deferred," according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. He was 27.

The medical examiner told Fox News Digital that an examination was scheduled for Monday and that "the investigation is still ongoing and there is limited information available."

Santa Monica Police Department officials are investigating the death as "a suspected overdose," according to a release from the department.

Officers responded to a report of a possible overdose at approximately 9:35 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 20. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the individual as Presley Gerber.

At this time, there is no indication of foul play, and Gerber's case remains open.

"The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner," the release added.

"The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," Crawford's representative said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

Presley was the only son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber.

Presley had been open about his mental health struggles, speaking publicly about them on social media and in interviews.
