(NEXSTAR) – If you have a Delta Air Lines flight in your future, you may want to pack your own Biscoff cookies.
The airline is rolling out changes to its food and beverage services on May 19 that could leave some without the chance of enjoying a travel-sized bag of chips or Coca-Cola while expanding the offering to others.
In a statement to Nexstar on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Delta confirmed that the adjustment aims “to create a more consistent experience across our network.”
Whether or not you receive a visit from the food and beverage cart will depend on how long your flight is and where you’re sitting.
On flights that are longer than 350 miles, passengers who are seated in Delta Comfort or Delta Main will receive full beverage and snack service, according to the airline.
But passengers sitting in the same areas on a shorter flight, like Chicago to Minneapolis, will not be offered food or drink. Travelers here previously received the option of water, coffee, or tea, plus two snack options.
Those flying in Delta First will continue to receive full service as always.
“Even on the small number of flights without beverage service, our crew will continue to be visible, available, and focused on caring for our customers, like they do on every flight,” the spokesperson added.
Food and drink service was already unavailable on flights below 250 miles. That would be a flight like Los Angeles to San Diego, for example.
If you’re not sure whether your Delta flight will be impacted, consider the travel time. If you’re on a short connection or getting to your destination requires less than an hour of flight time, you may want to pack your own snacks.
Complimentary snacks are available to American Airlines travelers on flights over 250 miles and on United Airlines flights over 300 miles.
